Roger Hill, Ray Crow, Alan Sullivan and myself went for an early morning trip.
We needed a few fish to show at a couple of upcoming sport and tackle shows.
Alan caught the first two stripers, both over 10 pounds. Ray had two on that
he couldn't turn before he landed an 11+ pound silverside. Then, the big
ones came under the boat. Roger landed the 32.25 pound hog after a long
fight. The big fish was still laying in the floor of the boat when he got
another hit that jerked the rod and reel right out of his hands. The next strike
was finally on my rod. I set the hook and broke my tournament series rod in half.
We caught and released several more double digit stripers before the sun got
TOO HOT for us old guys. We carried the only four stripers we kept for show fish
by the Tackle Box and weighed them on their certified scales.
