I took ornithology at SOSU. Lab was great! We were able to see many rare birds for our area. My parents are both avid bird watchers. They have quite a sanctuary in their yard for bluebirds, finches, and hummingbirds. Every year red-winged blackbirds raise their young among the cattails at my folk's pond in the front yard. It is great to be able to share this activity with them when I visit. They always have a story to share about their feathered companions. I was amazed to see a picture of my father with a hummingbird perched on his finger! Below are some good links dealing with birding.

Glossary of Birding Terms

The main site also contains a great online field indentification guide and other sites of interest to bird lovers. Go check it out!
