On Tuesday we learned more about our parents than we ever thought possible. We learned what it meant to Pledge Allegiance To The Flag of the United States of America.
On Tuesday ...the sons and daughters of those who fought and lived through World War II reached out and built a bridge across the generation gap.
On Tuesday September 11, 2001 - we stood together. We didn't talk as both generations watched our brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, mothers and fathers disappear.
 On
Tuesday tears
turned into promises. Whispered by some, sworn by those even
younger who thought patriotism defined by the Olympics or history
books. |
On Tuesday we all understood why our father's lied about their age, or begged their mothers to sign a consent form so they could "join up" and fight after news of Pearl Harbor.

On Tuesday we understood that war is hell.
On Tuesday We became resolute and united in our desire to unleash that hell.
On Tuesday we grew up and grew together. We heard the words and knew the meaning of "with liberty and justice for all".

On Tuesday we vowed to the six thousand souls that we would secure that liberty and we would not rest until we hunted down those responsible and delivered justice to all.
On Tuesday justice had a new name. And that name was freedom.
On Tuesday we became color blind. No longer Black brown or white - America turned red white and blue.

On Tuesday two hundred twenty four lives were lost when unimaginable evil descended upon them and our country. One hundred eighty nine civilians and military personnel went to the Pentagon for the last time.
On Tuesday the land of the free showed the world why we were the home of the brave.

On Tuesday we were bloodied, but like our father's before us and their fathers before them we did not break, we did not bow to evil. Through the smoke and ruins we came together to show the world that our flag was still there.

On Tuesday the faces of evil became known.

On Tuesday they may have been surprised to find us staring back across the ocean.
On Tuesday in the very near future we will deliver a message.
