manufactured by Victoria Yachts, Inc. in Debary Florida. A Field Guide to Sailboats
of North America-Second Edition by Richard M. Sherwood © 1994 States that the "Victoria
18 was first built in 1977 and there were 1,000 Victoria 18's made."(p. 98) Two versions of
this boat was constructed, a sloop and a very limited edition cutter. A Victoria 18 sales
brochure stated: "The Victoria 18 is designed and built by sailors for sailors. She is built
to be strong, as safe as can be, and her performance qualities are meant to be tested. She needs
to be sailed! She is demanding, but, when her needs are met, she returns tenfold. She teaches
the novice with a firm hand, but is forgiving and never punative. Whether you are a novice or a
master mariner, you will appreciate Victoria's small boat flexibility while, at the same time,
possessing the sailing characteristics and performance of a much larger yacht."
