    I began with the Fire Service with Sebring Airport Authority VFD in Sebring,
Florida.  Our fire district included an airport, industrial park, power
plant, and Sebring International Raceway.  I was a member there for about 2
years, beginning as a Support (Rehab) team member, and taking every class I
could through my time there.  While a member of SAAVFD I completed the
Florida 40 Hour Basic Volunteer Firefighter Course, as well as several others.
    Upon moving to Texas in 1995, I joined the Beeville VFD in Beeville, Texas.
(We were a much larger department, consisting of approximately 65 members,
whereas SAAVFD consisted of approximately 12.)  Our area covered Beeville,
including 3 Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutions (prisons), and
we provided mutual aid to all of Bee County.  While a member of BVFD, I
attended Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service's Firefighting I and was an
Assistant Instructor for Firefighting II.  My husband and I were elected to represent
BVFD (along with other members) at the Guadalupe District Semi-Annual Firemen's
and Fire Marshal's Convention.
    While in Beeville, I started FireReport Newsletter (FRN) as a way for the
smaller departments around the county to share training ideas, upcoming
events, etc.  Other firefighters around the country would visit and see the
newsletter, so I'd offer to send it to them.  In March of 1997 I started
posting to FireNet newsgroup.  Then our readership began to soar.  A few
months later, Dennis Espindola, Sr. of the 911 Fire, Police, Medical Site
approached me wondering where my web site was...
    Within a month, he had put together a nice page, and e-mailed me saying
"I've got a surprise for you..."  Dennis was kind enough to maintain our site until I
could learn HTML.   And, you can see where we are today!!
