Mission:
To serve Christ as a team volunteering to produce The Journey newsletter for the purpose of supporting the mission and goals of McKinney Fellowship Bible Church in "Helping People To Follow Christ."

Focus:
Every issue will contain featured articles that focus on the mission of McKinney Fellowship Bible Church in "Helping People To Follow Christ."

The primary source for those featured articles at this time is Bruce Miller and Steve Swadley.

The McFBC Calendar of Events outlines the focus and direction of activities

Web Facilitation:
As featured articles are determined, they will be posted on The Journey's Web site as a single point of reference for the team. A planning schedule is posted at this site containing information about the team, automatic email functionality, this process, the production schedule, the McFBC calendar of events, featured articles with their assignment and status and a final product of the newsletter.

Each team member can select to author articles based on the featured listings and the Calendar of Events.

Communication to Dale via email will assist in posting article assignments.

Authoring:
It is a goal that the team member authoring the article walks their document through the production process until the current issue is released including but not limited to the following:

Article selection
Personal Interviews
Research
Writing
Editing

One month is being provided for articles to be written. This will also allow for photographs to be taken. Due dates for articles are the first of the production month.

Once the article is written, it is submitted to both an editor and/or Dale in a text (.TXT), Word document (.DOC), or Rich Text (.RTF) format for the editing and design phase.

The editing, design and layout of the newsletter will occur in a two-week period.

Editing:
Dale will post the authored article to the Web site for access.

The Editor will edit the article and return the article to the person who is doing the design/layout in PageMaker and/or Dale.

Dale will re-post the article to the Web site for access.

Designing & Layout:
The Designer lays out the article and returns it to Dale.

Certain procedures will need to happen with the design and layout phase in order to accommodate the printing of the newsletter. For example, a design template will need to be maintained graphics need to be included in the document, standardization of fonts, etc. As the process develops more information will be added here.

Dale will format the document as a PDF (Portable Document Format) document and post it to the Web site for review and access by the staff and team.

Review:
Comments regarding the newsletter, edits and changes can be communicated by email.

Edits and changes to the newsletter will be made.

Final review and sign off on the document.

Printing:
The document will be given to Ken Lorenzini for printing in both printed and electronic form. Ken needs 3-5 days to print the newsletter.

Ken will proof the document before it is printed.

Alterations will be made only if absolutely necessary.

Bulk Mailing:
After printing and collating the newsletter, Ken will deliver to Suzee Bolton who coordinates with volunteers the bulk mailing of the newsletter.

Suzee needs three days to coordinate volunteers and prepare the mailing. Dale is available after hours to assist with this process.

Mailing:
Since The Journey is provided to members of the church, the mailing is local so three days will be estimated for receipt.

General availability will be by the last day of the month no later than the first of the month.

Pray!
Pray that as God builds this church that God will fill each one with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding in order that each one may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, and being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that each one may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified each one to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light, for he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Col. 1:9-14
