| A man once said “Study without thinking and
you are blind, think without studying, you are in danger".
The first answer that is typically given is...”You can’t get anywhere without it”. The competition is great and you MUST be able to compete. In my insignificant opinion, this is only part of the answer. I think there is one more important. Education can be one of the greatest experiences one can give to themselves. It allows you to put you mind and spirit in a realm that sees the world past your won limits. It allows you to hear the news of happenings around the world and have an understanding of “your own”. It allows you to determine the importance rather than relying on the newscaster. It allows you to willingly see the world with curiosity, wonder, and endless possibilities. Formal education is one way to obtain some these fruits, but not the only way. I have meet people in all walks of life and their formal education does not imply them to be “Educated”. All combinations and formulas have been tried with varying degrees of success. It appears that the success is with the individual. In every arena of education the student (one that is growing) feels the courses are irrelevant to the inner passion they have, a burden that is too heavy to carry. Many drop out, quite, abandon the quest. I think this is due to ignorance. They fail to realize that they have experienced a great surge in growth and consciousness and these things a demanding immediate exploration. Every seeker of knowledge has journeyed down this path. All have felt this smothered feeling. Through out time, all seekers have wanted to strike out on their own, but formal education in all its forms and shapes has been chased by all people of all cultures for all of time. Formal education has a quality that surpasses your passion; to leave it is perilous. Your Questions is not a simple one, and I will not insult you by leaving only half the answer. Formal education with all its genius and history will not feed your spirit and make you whole. Along with knowledge, you must seek wisdom. Knowledge is knowing many things and is seen on the outside. Wisdom seems to be a single item and resides within. The “how” of wisdom is experience. Life will give you wisdom if you look for it. On a positive aspect, you can travel, sit alone and watch the sun set, look into the eyes of a stranger on the street, or see the life in a baby’s smile. The harder paths (which befall us all) are the turbulent paths of life. They will sweep you, jolt you, and break your heart, but in all, there is wisdom if you seek. Do not place a judgment on others on the path. One with less formal education may bestow wisdom while another will gain from yours. Individuals with greater knowledge will help you in life gain more wholeness since they have ventured on the knowledge path longer, while at times you can give them yours. Seek friends that have the same passion. They may not have the same understanding or know the reasons why, but they are seekers as yourself. You will know. Life will grant you wisdom in ways you neither choose nor understand. Knowledge is your choice. A musician one said “Knowledge allows me to play the instrument, but wisdom allow me to play the music.
