Smoke On The Water
- by Deep Purple, from the Album MACHINE HEAD

- Ahh, this one brings back memories. I never heard the words, it
was the beat. Of course the complete dedication to the song was in direct
proportion to the dislike my father had. I cannot count the times he came
banging on the door in the specific tone and timber of a father, "Son!?
Please turn it down, we cannot hear ourselves think". I never really
appreciated the position till I had children. Some things never change.
I cannot count the times they have come to ME with the plea "Please
turn it down". The only difference is the way it was handled. We talked/compromised.
Three sets of headphones and an appropriate number of capacitors were obtained
(can't have the stereo blasting into those delicate eardrums and causing
deftness). Of course my set of headphones has a switch which does allow
100 watts/channel fry my drums. So the saga continues, the battle between
the volume level and R&R. The family continues to raise a child, the
problem is that I continue to be that child. Someday I'll grow up, someday.
Don't think so. <grin>. Wish to thank J.C and M. Doyle. Mike supplied
the original Midi (that's his solo in the middle). The song is his except
for a kid; doing drums, changing the midi & the weird messed up guitar
solos at the end. ===========================================================================
