In 1978, Douglas Arthur Hotalen relocated with Sharon and Douglas Allen from Allentown, PA to Sherman, TX after being hired by a large Dallas TX electronics firm following completion of a two year Associate Degree in Electronics Technology. He fell in love with the Texas climate because of the mild winters, the nice people and the low cost of living.

In 1974, Douglas Arthur Hotalen graduated from Delaware Valley High School located in Milford, PA. His higher educational background is in electronics. He attended three colleges receiving two Associates Degrees (ASET-1978 and ASAE-1985) and one BS Degree (BSEET-1993).

Douglas Allen Hotalen participated in Boy Scouts and achieved Eagle Scout rank in 1993. After graduating from the Sherman Independent School System in 1995, he attended Grayson County Jr College for one year and transferred to a four year college called Midwestern State University located in Wichita Falls, TX. He graduated from Midwestern State University in May 2000 with a BS in Business Administration.

Sharon Marie Hotalen graduated from the Sherman Independent School System with a GED. She also attended Holiday Inn Housekeeping College and completed her education to become a Registered Housekeeper.

Jennifer Price of Denison and Douglas Hotalen of Whitesboro, TX wed April 29 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Denison, TX. Father Curt Norman officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Glenn and Karel Price of Denison, TX. She is a graduate of Denison High School and Grayson County College and is employed at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.

Hotalen is the son of Douglas and Sharon Hotalen of Whitesboro, TX. He is a graduate of Sherman High School and Midwestern State University and is employed with the Target Corporation.

Maid of honor was Lorin Shannon. Matron of honor was Ginger O’Reilly.

Flower girls were Olivia Schultz and Olivia Lawrence. Ring bearer was Jonathan Lawrence.

Best man was the groom’s father. Honor attendants for the groom were Scott Ackley and Diane Ackley.

Ushers were the bride’s nephews, Patrick and Adam Hart.

Candlelighter was Lexie Halk, the bride’s niece. Wedding music was provided by Dorothy Brinkman.

A reception was held at Kohfeldt Hall at the church. Assisting were Valley Hart, Margie Halk, the bride’s sisters.
