14k yellow gold-filled, nickel, sterling silver, amethyst, and lapis lazuli
This is a lady's coronet, and so was designed to be more graceful and
delicate. As with the previous coronet, the gold color on the surface is
gold-filled sheet. It has a layer of 14 K yellow gold bonded to a sheet
of base metal. The result is more durable than gold plating, and
considerable less costly than solid gold sheet. It can be problematic to
solder, however, so I prefer to use rivets to attach it. It is backed
with a layer of nickle-silver (which has no actual silver content) for
durability and contrast. The top edge flares out 5 degrees from vertical.
