The second year of this three-year grant will focus on Geometry for 5th - 9th grade mathematics teachers. There will be 20 participants selected for this workshop. The summer session will begin at 12:00 p.m. and end at 5:00 p.m. June 10 - 13 and June 17 - 20. Additional sessions will be scheduled during the fall semester. Each participant must attend all summer and fall workshops.
Teachers selected to participate will have the opportunity to explore geometric concepts using Geometer's Sketchpad. Each participant will receive a copy of Geometer's Sketchpad, $250 for travel and per diem, and $150 to be applied toward tuition if the participant wishes to receive graduate credit for the courses.
Applications for the positions in the workshop are now being accepted. Please have teachers complete a copy of the enclosed application form. The application deadline is April 6, 2002, and applicants will be notified by April 20, 2002.
