The Eisenhower Grant is for middle school math teachers who wish to improve their teaching skills.
This grant focuses on using technology to improve the content knowledge and pedagogical skills of middle school mathematics teachers. The content areas to be covered include algebra, geometry, and probability and statistics. Concepts will be explored using graphing calculators, calculator-based laboratories and rangers, and computer software.
The pedagogical skills addressed will include techniques for using an inquiry-based teaching method and technology in the classroom. This grant also establishes Southeastern Oklahoma State University as a technology center, where teachers who have taken the courses may check out equipment to use in the classroom.
