Eugene Kegans
Mr. Kegans is one of our local leaders. He is our local Pharmacist. Mr. Kegans has many leadership jobs in our community but he doesn't get paid, he's a volunteer. One of these jobs is President of the Leonard Chamber of Commerce. Another leadership job is to serve as a Director of the Industrial Foundation. Mr Kegans also is a committee member of the Leonard Economic Development Corporation, President of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Adult Huddle, and Chairman of the Board of the Leonard First United Methodist Church. In 1987 Mr. Kegans was voted Citizen of the Year.
We asked Mr. Kegans what was vital in a leader. He said, "when you are doing something as a leader always include everybody, work as a team
. Make a team effort don't do it all yourself." During our interview with Mr. Kegans one of our students asked him to describe his work. He answered and said that he reads the prescriptions that the doctors wrote down for their patients. Mr Kegans finds the prescription and tells the patient how to use it.
