Netscape versions 4.05 and 4.51 sometimes get image files 'stuck' in the cache, and make it appear that updated image files have not been loaded to the web site. These can persist despite repeated use of the RELOAD button and erasing the memory and disk cache. Two workarounds: 1. Erase the memory and disk cache (EDIT - PREFERENCES - ADVANCED - CACHE). 2. Right click on the stubborn image and select VIEW IMAGE. The image then appears alone in the Netscape window. Click RELOAD, and the updated image should appear. Then click the BACK button, and the updated image should appear on the page. Many versions of L-View can save images in gif87a (interlaced) or in gif89a (transparent). When saving as gif89a, the background color controls which part of the image is transparent. The default setting can sometimes cause parts of the picture to disappear when viewed in the browser. There are two ways to fix this: 1. Change the background color under OPTIONS. 2. If a transparent gif is not required, save the file as gif87a.
